Ball room Wedding - SCOTTISH RITE TEMPLE, LAKE MERRITT, OAKLAND, CA
THE VENUE: Church ceremony & ball room reception
Oakland Scottish Rite Temple is one of those buildings that when you walk in you just feel the essence of history with that vintage old-soul flair! Those amazing grand entrance doors towered over the couple and guests leading to a very extravagant entrance experience!
For a formal wedding such as this the bride and groom each had their own getting ready lounge - the men had a salon type restroom and the ladies had a vintage ladies lounge with exquisite floral wallpaper to admire as they got ready! The Groom adorned a tux with velvet bow tie as the groomsmen wore black suits with slim fitted ties. The Bride lounged in an intricate lace robe as the make up artist worked their magic and the bridesmaids dressed in their lavender gown. A group shot during getting ready is definitely one of our favorites! Future bride and groom do not forget to have your details ready in the morning for your photographers! Examples: Shoes, Watches, Rings, Ring box, Veils etc. And it is always so lovely with a bride takes sometime to do a little boudoir!
FIRST LOOK & PORTRAITS
First looks are definitely the way to go for bride and grooms who would like some time together before the rush of the ceremony and events afterwards! A little tap on the shoulder here and a hug there - our favorite moments! Natalie and Ben spent sometime with their wedding party for portraits before they went back in for ceremony.
THE GRAND CEREMONY
The ceremony room at Oakland Scottish Rite Temple is basically a theater! Doesn't it remind you of Moulin Rouge? Red carpet, gold wooden trims, velvet red rope, red curtains and spot lights ready for the Hollywood couple! This venue is definitely the way to go for the couple who wants a grand old-world elegance statement!
THE RECEPTION, FIRST DANCE & ENTERTAINMENT
The reception was held on the first floor which opened up into a large opulent ballroom with plenty of spotlights and candles. The bride changed into a more modern gown with a vintage bow and after a grand entrance with pops of gold confetti canons they danced away to their First Dance song amongst the fallen confetti. An exciting surprise for the guest as a welcome element were two Champagne Divas! They rolled around the room serving champagnes and posing for pictures - what a fun way to start a reception!
THE SPARKLERS GRAND EXIT
The grand exit! Never a must-have but isn't it just so dreamy when there is one? The sparklers were lit and the couple made their way out those grand building doors, down the grand steps and Ben swooped Natalie up into his arms for this grand exit pose! What a way to end the night!
